Issue with WhatsApp Chatbot notifications to Telegram: "Invalid API Keys"

Hi everyone,

I鈥檓 currently setting up a WhatsApp chatbot for a new client and I've run into a roadblock while configuring Telegram notifications.

When I try to enable the notifications, I get the following error message:

"It is not possible to generate a bot subscription link. The SendPulse API keys are not valid. Profile settings"

Here is what I鈥檝e checked so far:

  • I followed the link to Profile Settings, but I don鈥檛 see any API keys defined there.

  • Interestingly, I have another account where Telegram notifications work perfectly, yet that account doesn't have API keys defined in that section either.

  • I鈥檝e already reviewed the documentation (Knowledge Base link), but I couldn't find any reference to this specific API error in the context of the Notifications Bot.

Has anyone encountered this issue before? Is there a specific permission or a hidden setting I might be missing for this new client account?

I would appreciate any guidance or workarounds to get these notifications running.

Thanks in advance!

Update: Issue Resolved!

Hi everyone, I managed to solve the problem and wanted to share the fix in case anyone else runs into this.

It turns out that even though some accounts seem to work without visible keys, this specific instance required them to be manually generated.

The solution:

  1. Go to Account Settings.

  2. Navigate to the API tab.

  3. Generate a new ID and Secret key.

Once I did this, the error message disappeared, and I was able to generate the Telegram subscription link immediately. I'm attaching a screenshot of the settings area for reference.

Hope this helps someone else!
